Jim Warren

One of the Most Successful & Versatile Artists - and a Great Friend of Mother Earth
Jim Warren in studioJohn Ferri describes Jim's art as "vivid nature scenes that blend realistic representations of people and animals with elements of fantasy". Correct, yet it would take much more "juice" to even start describing Jim's creativity. In my view, Jim warren deserves much more credit than that, for re-creating surrealism into a DRIVE, a push. Via his brushes and paint he drives something home to us, an idea, a push to action or change of attitude.

"In the end, we will conserve only what we love. We will love only what we understand. We will understand only what we have been taught."
-- Baba Dioum, Senegalese ecologist

True. And what a great way is ART to make us love the Earth. Jim Warren does it in a very unique way, loving way. He loves nature. Looking at his paintings, it is obvious that he wants very much to protect it. Let's take a virtual tour in his gallery and try to see what's behind each picture. I'll save my words and let Jim's art mostly speak for itself:
  • CLICK TO ENLARGE"Earth Love It or Lose It":
Jim tells the story behind the picture: "One day, by chance, I photographed my niece Kristen atop a table. I noticed her look of concern and hesitation when she realized how high she was. I remembered my own vulnerabilities as a child and the fears I had about the unknown world around me. One small child in an uncertain world. Earth Love it or Lose it. Appearing on billboards, magazine covers, posters, and prints, this painting became a visual representation of the environmental movement of the early 90’s."

  • "Don't Mess with Mother Nature":
"You can't fool Mother Nature", says Jim. Read the full story below the picture.

  • "Nature's Little Helper":
A little nature-loving girl, see what she does with her magical presence. More on girls re-creating nature are "Child's Play" and "Young Artist". So-so-so-much creativity, Jim, very well done!

  • "Littlest Mermaid":
Look at the exchange of admiration between the little mermaid and the animals. Can you see the distant admiration of the boy behind the tree?

  • "Mermaid's Teaparty":
John Ferri describes it as "a mystical scene of mermaid children holding an underwater tea party". I see girls having a tea party not only IN nature, but WITH nature and WITH the animals, enjoying each other's company just as any other "social" life we may have...

  • "Dolphin Rides" and "Circle of Friends":
More scenes of children characters greatly enjoying nature and animals. Kids especially adore dolphins, don't they?

  • "Island Dreams", "Girl in the Sea thru Bikini" and "Fly Away":
The wonders of feminine beauty walk hand in hand with the splendor of nature.

  • "Together Again", "Romantic Day" and "Nature's Embrace":
Romantic love and the love of Mother Earth - can they combine to one astonishing scene? Jim Warren has the answer.

NEWS: The Fascinating Oksana-Warren Collaboration
Oksana Kolesnikova - order CD As reported on Oksana Kolesnikova's website and Jim Warren's website:

There's a growing co-operation between Jim Warren and Oksana Kolesnikova, an internationally acclaimed pianist/composer from Siberia, Russia (who's an art work by herself: see her in the studio and near her piano).

In this fascinating endeavor, Oksana has allowed herself to be inspired by our planet, men and animals. The question she asked herself was: "What does the art of Jim Warren sound like?" The result of this project will soon be released on CD and you can now take a sneak peek at what to expect by clicking here. Really, both artists seem to be made for this kind of endeavor, with Kolesnikova regularly switching from Classical music into Pop and Rock and with Warren's personal motto being: "To hell with the rules... paint what you like."

"The same moment I was introduced to the art of Jim Warren I sat at my piano mesmerized and transformed into musical equivalent the emotions I felt while admiring his works. Jim and I share a very similar artistic wavelength, which is making this collaboration an exhilarating experience," commented Oksana.

"To me, Oksana’s compositions share the same passion and creativity as I bring to my paintings. When I heard she wanted to compose songs based on my art, I had an instant interest to collaborate with her much in the same manner in which I have done in the past with marine life artist, Wyland, and with Walt Disney Studios," said Jim Warren.
