CCHR has been on the front lines of mental health reform since 1969. In the early years, members of CCHR took to the streets to bring mental health abuses to public attention. Today, hundreds of groups have joined CCHR in calling for psychiatry to be brought under the law and for human rights to be restored to the mental health field.

CCHR members are active throughout the world organizing marches, public hearings, exhibits, and other actions to raise public awareness about the rampant criminality within psychiatry. Celebrities who have spoken out against psychiatric abuse, labeling and drugging of children include Tom Cruise, Lisa Marie Presley, Priscilla Presley and Kelly Preston.

Why Is CCHR So VITAL To The Survival Of This Planet?

Human Rights? Psychiatry? Anti-Psychiatry? Interesting. But what's all this got to do with the environment? The environment is oil spills, endangered species, that sort of thing, right?

No it's not! Let me explain:

The "environment", "Human Kind", "animals", "trees", "life" - these are NOT separate things. These are ALL parts, divisions, of the very same thing - life. Your life, buddy. Life is a whole that cannot be separated. Read more on the dynamics of life.

Now when it comes to Human Rights and Psychiatry, there is a VITAL point here... No wait! Did I just say 'vital'? I take my word back, I should say ABSOLUTELY CRUCIAL. See, what if we were to lose the right to open our mouths and oppose big polluters and destroyers, or the government agencies that cover up for them? What if we lose our most basic human right - to communicate? That will be very bad for Earth. Life on the planet will die, and it will happen fast.

The ironic thing about it is that those who are now neglecting the environment for profit and imaginary feeling of "power" will die too. I mean it's stupid, plain stupid. Their pets, their gardens, their banks and stock exchanges will all be lost. These crazy fools cannot predict their own horrible future. We must do it for them! It's not a choice, we simply must.

Now what if Psychiatry took over, drugging everybody with "happy pills"? Then, my dear friend, there will be nobody left TO CARE what is going on. To hell with the environment, just give me my medication. But if Mother Earth dies, medication dies, it will all stop. No future.

We want future. We want our kids to survive to adult life. Good adult life. We want life to continue and grow even BETTER. Not decay into oblivion. Psychiatry is the enemy of caring, of being able to look around and SEE what's wrong, what needs to be CHANGED, an enemy of the ability to take responsibility AGAINST ALL ODDS and win. Of being the freedom fighters that we all are deep inside.

CCHR blazes a clear trail through this maze, enabling a future for Earth and for all life on it. In an indirect but powerful way they are the friends and defenders of the elephants, the dolphins, the trees.

Support it today. Make it known. Especially to those who were victimized personally or between their family and friends. Because these victims are not "them", they are "us". Their future is ours. Let's go!
